Another lockdown, another time to discover a new hidden talent or interest. This isn’t the first time we’ve been in this situation so we can definitely get through it again this time. We’ve all proven to be a very creative and imaginative bunch when it comes to innovating and entertaining at home.

Keeping busy and distracted throughout this time is vital to keep a level balance on your mental health which is why we’ve decided to come up with a list of things that can help you do just that throughout this second lockdown.

Baking

Yep, you guessed it, baking is number one on our list! Why? Because it’s something we’re all able to do while at home. It’s easy to learn, yummy to eat and leaves you feeling accomplished once you’ve completed that recipe or tutorial you’ve always wanted to follow.

Once you’ve baked your chosen recipe, you can also share it with your friends and family on social media apps like Instagram, Facebook and even TikTok!

Workout

Working out is something that is really important for our health and wellbeing whether that’s physical or mental health. Getting into the swing of working out may be difficult at the start so why not begin by creating a workout schedule, something that outlines what exercise you will do at what time of the day for a specific day/s of the week.

This will ensure that you don’t miss a day and you’ll be surprised how quickly the benefits of this organisation and exercise will make you feel.

Make a Bath and Read a Book

I don’t know about you but whenever I try to read a book, I either don’t have the time, get distracted or never remember that book I bought from Amazon 6 months ago… So I made it my plan to read one book a week this lockdown. I started by digging out the books I’d previously ordered from Amazon, picked one, sat down and started reading page by page.

Books can have many positive effects on your life, some you may not even realise. You’ll gain knowledge and understanding on topics you would never normally research. You may also discover a few new words along the way.

Learn to tie-dye

Tie-dye is an activity that’ll not only keep you and your family occupied for the afternoon but will also encourage and challenge your creative side and leave you with a great new outfit afterwards. Unsurprisingly, famous celebs on social media were posting all about it throughout the first lockdown, so if you missed the first phase, now is the perfect opportunity to give it a go during this second lockdown! Decorating some of your old white t-shirts with splashes of colour. Fantastic!
